Heisei Generations FOREVER Has Second Highest Opening for Kamen Rider
The final movie in the Heisei series of Kamen Rider opened in 3rd place during a busy weekend.
Facing off against Wreck it Ralph 2, Nisekoi, and A Star is Born, Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER opened in 3rd place at the box office this weekend.
Despite the third place finish, the movie had the highest opening of the winter release of Kamen Rider movies, which began back in 2009. It was also the second highest opening day for a Kamen Rider or Super Sentai movie, with the Kamen Rider Decade/Samurai Sentai Shinkenger double feature holding the top spot.
Takeru Satoh, who returned to the series as Ryotaro Nogami/Kamen Rider Den-O for the first time in a decade commented on his role. The actor said “I appreciate those who supported me from all the way back then. Kamen Rider, which is fictional in the real world, is true and eternal in our hearts,”.
Many reviews also mention shocked gasps and awe in theaters during Satoh’s appearance, which was kept under wraps until the day of release. Some audience members were said to have broken into tears during the scene.
