Summary of Zi-O SG Watcher: Vol.14
Bandai’s candy toy blog posted a new entry for Kamen Rider Zi-O, revealing yet more surprising additions to SO-DO.
The man in charge of candy toy development goes by D, and in honor of Zi-O, he has changed his usual nickname to Di-O.
Di-O begins by talking about SG RideWatch 03, the latest Sound RideWatches to be releases. Along with the lead Riders OOO and Den-O, there are also some interesting additions.
“As you all know, Birth and Kaixa are both very popular Riders – but if I had my druthers, I’d go with the Ghost Grateful Damashii RideWatch!”
Now that the OOO TaJaDor RideWatch campaign has been put out there, Bandai will be producing more RideWatches based on power-up forms. He also clarifies that the pins on the back of these SG exclusive RideWatches do not trigger unique text on the DX Ziku-Driver – Birth displays the OOO RideWatch text, Kaixa displays Faiz RideWatch text, and Grateful Damashii displays regular Ghost RideWatch text.
With that, he goes on to reveal more contents for SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O: RIDE 4…
“ArmorTime: Blade!”
Kamen Rider Zi-O in BladeArmor, based on Kamen Rider Blade.
This form is another design only ever displayed on the toy packaging for the DX RideWatch it’s associated with, and SO-DO will once again be turning these designs into toys.
The design of BladeArmor incorporates the Blay Rouzer weapon’s card display into the shoulder design. Since Blade gets his name from a sword, they’ve included the Zikan Girade in its sword mode – this is a reproduction of the one included with RIDE 1, so it is not a special variation.
Also included with BladeArmor is the Taka Watchroid, a gadget that appeared in the show, based on Kamen Rider OOO‘s Taka Candroid. It features a peg so that it can be held in hand, and a peghole for displaying on a display stand.
“ArmorTime: Kabuto!”
And additionally, Kamen Rider Zi-O in KabutoArmor.
Much like BladeArmor, this is yet another form only seen on toy packaging. It features the horns of the Kabuto Zecter as shoulderpads. While the back of the hand is different, Di-O recommends using the newly revealed pointing hand to replicate Kabuto’s iconic point to the heavens.
Included with KabutoArmor is a RideWatch loaded version of the Zikan Zax in its ax mode. This completes the series weapon RideWatch-baring variations that SO-DO has been working into its latest waves.
RIDE 4 has been almost entirely revealed by this point. The contents include OOOArmor as two slots, a Zi-O body for displaying OOOArmor, BladeArmor and KabutoArmor, and an Armor Changing body for Zi-O. Based on the numbering, there are two more items in this beefy wave.
