Live-Action Kyo Kara Ore Wa!! Cast Adds Tokusatsu Alumni
Adaptation of comedy High School manga already features several tokusatsu alumni.
Earlier this week, a number of cast members were announced for the live action adaptation of Hiroyuki Nishimori’s Kyo Kara Ore Wa!! (From Today On, I Am!!) high school manga. The new cast members make up the ‘enemies’ of the series’ protagonists.
Among the actors playing the enemy characters are Yuu Shirota (Hana Kimi, The Hero Yoshihiko), Kenta Suga (Kamen Rider Wizard X Fourze; Movie War Ultimatum), Junki Tozuka (Kamen Rider Wizard), Kazuki Namioka (Kamen Rider Gaim), Kento Shibuya (Kamen Rider Hibiki) and Junya Ikeda (Gokaiger, Garo). They join a cast that already includes Hayato Isomura (Kamen Rider Ghost), Kenta Izuka (Tomica Hero Rescue Force), and Muro Tsuyoshi (The Hero Yoshihiko).
The manga’s plot follows high school student Takashi Mitsuhashi and the friendship he forms with fellow student Shinji Itō, who both decide to reinvent themselves as delinquents. Actors Kento Kaku and Kintaro will play Takashi and Shinji, respectively.
The series is directed by Yuichi Fukuda, who is known for his now trademark comedic directing style which can be seen in Hentai Kamen, Gintama, Aoi Honno (Blue Blazes), and The Hero Yoshihiko series. The series will debut on October 14, 2019, during NTV’s Nichiyo Drama time slot.
