Ultraman Orb Will Air On TOKU Starting In July

The TOKU broadcasting network will be premiering three new live action shows in July, including Ultraman Orb.

Olympusat, Inc.’s broadcasting network, TOKU, gets its name from its specialization in airing tokusatsu productions in addition to anime. Now, Toku will be adding Ultraman Orb to its lineup on July 2nd starting at 7:30 PM EST.

Ultraman Orb originally aired from July to December 2016 as a celebration of Ultraman’s 50th anniversary. The story follows Gai Kurenai who secretly transforms into Ultraman Orb and uses the power of past Ultra Warriors to fight monsters released by Jugglus Juggler. Juggler was rejected for receiving Orb’s power and retaliated by releasing King Demon Beasts into the world after they were sealed away by Ultra Warriors long ago. The show ran for 25 episodes.

The announcement of new programming in July also included two other live action shows known as Tokyo Gore School and Mirrorman.

Tokyo Gore School is a 2009 horror film about Shinichi Sanada, a high school student who attempts and fails to commit suicide. When the high school president, Hayato Fujiwara, suspects there’s more to the story than bullying, Shinichi’s teacher gives cryptic warnings which leads Hayato to uncover a whole mystery.

Mirrorman was Tuburaya Productions’ first superhero show unrelated to Ultraman despite some similarities. The show originally aired from December, 1971, to November, 1972. Its story takes place in 1980 where aliens called Invaders are aiming to use giant monsters to take over Earth. An organization called the Science Guard Members (SGM) is assigned to investigate the Invaders. When Kyotaro Kagami’s foster father, the leader of SGM, tells him that his father was actually an alien, he discovers that this alien was also a superhero from the 2nd dimension known as Mirrorman. Now, he must transform into the new Mirrorman in order to help humanity defeat the Invaders.

Tokyo Gore School will premiere on July 7th at 10 PM EST, Mirrorman will premiere on July 20th at 7 PM EST, and as previously stated, Ultraman Orb begins airing on July 2nd at 7 PM EST all on TOKU.
