Bleach Live-Action Movie Adds Erina Mano
Former Kamen Rider actress Erina Mano set to be one of several new actors added to Bleach movie adaptation.
Early Tuesday night, the official blog for the live-action adaptation of Tite Kubo’s Bleach manga was updated with the announcement of five new cast members. Erina Mano (Next Generation -Patlabor-) has been cast as Orihime Inoue, a classmate of Ichigo Kurosaki targeted by the Hollows early on. Yu Koyanagi (former drummer for ONE OK ROCK) has been cast as Yatsutora Sado/Chad, another classmate who eventually becomes aware of the Hollow threat. Seiichi Tanabe (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K) has also been cast as Kisuke Urahara, a mysterious figure who helps the Shinigami/ Soul Reapers against the Hollows. Rounding out the cast is Yosuke Eguchi (Rurouni Kenshin) as Isshin Kurosaki and Masami Nagasawa (Gintama) as Masaki Kurosaki, Ichigo’s parents.
Mano’s addition to the cast makes her the third former cast member from Kamen Rider Fourze, having previously portrayed Kamen Rider Nadeshiko. She joins former cast-mates Sota Fukushi (previously Kamen Rider Fourze) as Ichigo Kurosaki and Ryo Yoshizawa (previously Kamen Rider Meteor) as Ishida Uryuu. The film also features Hana Sugisaki (Blade of the Immortal) as Rukia Kuchiki, Miyavi (Kong: Skull Island) as Byakuya Kuchiki, and Taichi Saotome (The Prince of Tennis)as Renji Abarai.
The plot of the movie is said to adapt the first eight volumes of the manga, which finished its run back in 2016. Directed by Shinsuke Sato (Gantz), the movie is set to open July 20 in theaters across Japan.
