Ninninger’s Gaku Matsumoto to Star in Digimon Adventure Tri Stage Play

Toei’s Digimon Adventure tri. serves as a sequel to the first two Digimon series, Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02.

Gaku Matsumoto, who portrayed Yakumo/AoNinger in Shuriken Sentai Ninninger has been cast as lead character Tai in Digimon Adventure tri. ~8-gatsu Tsuitachi no Bōken~, a stage adaptation of the 6 part movie series.

The play will also star Shohei Hashimoto as Yamato, Kaisei Kamimura as Koshiro, Junya Komtasu as Jou, and Kenta Nomiyama as Takeru.

The play tells a side story that takes place on August 1st, a special date within the series that marks the day the original heroes were sent to the digital world. It follows the cast on a camping trip, reliving the emotions they felt from traveling to the Digital World and being lost for the first time six years ago.

The production will run from August 5th to the 13th at the Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi in Tokyo.
