“Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future” Star, Mackenyu Cast in Pacific Rim: Maelstrom
Mackenyu Maeda has been cast in the upcoming sequel to Guillermo Del Toro and Travis Beacham’s kaiju film, Pacific Rim.
Mackenyu Maeda, who goes simply by Mackenyu, is best known to tokusatsu fans in his role as Eiji Tomari, son of Shinnosuke Tomari from the Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future movie. Makenyu announced his casting in Pacific Rim sequel via Twitter:

Makenyu is also part of the cast for the upcoming JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure live-action adaptation as well as the Peach Girl adaptation, both slated for 2017.
Pacific Rim: Maelstrom is directed by Steven S. DeKnight, and written and produced by Guillermo Del Toro. John Boyega and Cailee Spaeny are playing the leads. The film is slated for a February 23, 2018 release.
