Fujiyama Ichiban Launches Kickstarter Campaign for New Story Arc

Independent Los Angeles-based tokusatsu production, Fujiyama Ichiban, recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund their next arc, Fujiyama Ichiban Ultimate.

In 2014, the Tokusatsu Network covered Fujiyama Ichiban as it began its production. The first episode of the independent tokusatsu show, which initially began as a local Los Angeles monthly magazine and live stage show, premiered on YouTube later that same year in September with a new hero and story arc the following year.

Creator and director, Michi Yamato, announced the upcoming story arc and film, Fujiyama Ichiban Ultimate, during Power Morphicon this past August. With new behind-the-scenes footage and design images, Fujiyama Ichiban Ultimate hopes to bring in a story line geared toward adult audiences.

The new Ultimate story arc looks to bring in more CG action sequences combined with live stunt work and new costume designs, namely from noted illustrator and toy designer, Tsuyoshi Nonaka, and manga artist, Kenichi Muraeda, best known for Kamen Rider Spirits. Additional production members also include VFX artist Kazunobu Sano, whose credits include Final Fantasy Type-0 and who was a former Art Director for Red Entertainment.

The Kickstarter campaign is currently has less than 30 days to meet its $137,000 goal. Campaign rewards include a digital copy of the film, an original poster, t-shirt, prop replica items, and an on-set cameo.
