Toei Video announced the Blu-ray box set release of the early 80’s classic, Space Sheriff Gavan.
The upcoming Blu-ray box set will include a special talk segment with star, Kenji Ohba, who portrayed Retsu Ichijoji / Space Sheriff Gavan; director, Osamu Kaneda, who was Space Sheriff Gavan‘s action director back then; and Jun Murakami, who did the suit acting for Gavan.
The first box will release on January 1, 2017 with the following box releasing on March 8, 2017. Together, the set will include all 44 episodes. The initial batch for the first box will also include a case for both volumes.
Each box will cost 29000¥ + tax.

Space Sheriff Gavan was the first installment of the Metal Heroes Space Sheriff trilogy that aired from March 1982 to February 1983.
The series centers around Space Sheriff Gavan who is sent from the Galacting Union Police to Earth after it is threatened by the Space Criminal Organization, Makuu.
The character of Gavan appeared again in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie. Gavan then later appeared in an all new story in 2012 titled Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie which also starred, Yuma Ishigaki.
