Mirrorman and Fireman Visiting the Ultraman Festival 2016
Tsuburaya releases the first episodes of Mirrorman and Fireman to YouTube to celebrate their upcoming DVDs and “Ultraman Festival 2016” appearances.
Mirrorman and Fireman are two of Tsuburaya’s classic non-Ultra tokusatsu series from the 1970s, and they’re joining in on this year’s Ultra 50 festivities with new DVD Box releases and an appearance at the annual Ultraman Festival.
Mirrorman was first released in 1971, and was Tsuburaya’s first non-Ultra superhero show. It tells the story of the Science Guard Members and their struggle against the alien Invaders. Into the conflict comes young photojournalist Kyotaro Kagami, played by Noboyuki Ishida, who discovers that he is the son of an alien and can transform into Mirrorman in front of reflective surfaces.
Fireman follows Daisuke Misaki, played by Naoya Makoto (AkaRanger from Himitsu Sentai Gorenger), a member of the subterranean tribe of human-like beings from the Aban continent. When giant mutated dinosaurs mysterious appear, Daisuke is sent to the surface to discover why and defend the surface dwelling humans.
Both Ishida and Makoto will drop by Ultraman Festival 2016 on July 29th, the release date for the new Fireman and Mirrorman DVD sets. Ulfes attendees will benefit from a special discount for the sets.
Ultraman Festival will run from 7/22 to 8/28, and in addition to Fireman, Mirrorman, and the Ultras, Redman is expected to make an appearance.
