Elizabeth Banks Cast as Rita Repulsa in Upcoming Power Rangers Movie
Actor, Elizabeth Banks, confirmed to play main villain, Rita Repulsa in upcoming Power Rangers film.
Bank’s announcement, like previous film cast announcements, came from the film’s official Instagram account.
Moments after the Instagram post, Banks tweeted:
Elizabeth Banks recently voiced Wyldstyle in The LEGO Movie and played Effie Trinket in the Hunger Games trilogy.
The Power Rangers film is currently being produced by Haim Saban, Brian Cassentini (of Saban Brands), and Allison Shearmur (Cinderella), with a script being written by X-Men: First Class and Thor writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. The film is being directed by The Almanac director, Dean Israelite.
The film is currently scheduled to premiere March 24, 2017.
