Trailer for Live-Action Bakuman Film Released
The trailer for the live-action film adaptation of hit manga series, Bakuman, starring Kamen Rider Den-O and Rurouni Kenshin actor Takeru Satoh, has been released online.
Based on the series by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, the writer/illustrator team that created Death Note, Bakuman tells the story of two high school students who aim to get a manga published in the pages of Weekly Shounen Jump. To date, the manga has had a three season television anime adaptation and a game.
In the film, Takeru Satoh plays the role of Moritaka Mashiro, the unlikely manga artist who ends up joining forces with writer Akito Takagi, played by fellow Kenshin actor, Ryunosuke Kamiki. Also appearing in the film are XXXHolic‘s Shota Sometani and Prophecy‘s Nana Komatsu.
The film adaptation of Bakuman will be released in Japan on October 3rd. The original manga is available for purchase in both digital and print formats from Viz Media.
