Tokusatsu Manga Artist & Actors Appear in Crowdfunded Dragon Emperor Yakuza Movie
Manga artist, Gou Ichihara, is set to direct the movie adaptation of the latest installment of his popular manga collaboration series, DRAGON EMPEROR.
The project has the support and appearance of many renowned manga artists including Goro Yamada, known for his Kikaider and Kamen Rider manga publications as well as the special participation of Kenji Oba and Hiroshi Watari, of Space Sheriff fame.
While the movie itself has been completed, the director wishes to show it around Japan and has decided to crowdfund the distribution and publicity campaign with many exclusive benefits for supporters including original merchandise and access to exclusive screenings.
The movie, which will be shown at the JAPAN EXPO 2015 in Paris this coming June, describes the hardships of Kazuki Hibiki, the 3rd Dragon Emperor, a fixer of the Tokyo underground whose power reaches even law enforcement and politics. However, he poses as a harmless, yet extremely popular camera man in the Kabukicho district in Tokyo.
