Space Sheriff Gavan vs Dekaranger and Girls in Trouble Episode Zero Announced

Toei has announced a new project reuniting the Dekaranger cast and teaming up with Space Sheriff Gavan.

The cast of 2004’s Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger will return in 2017 in two new films under the joint “Space Squad” banner. Both films, released simultaneously, will focus on different members of the team.

Space Sheriff Gavan vs Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger features the return of Yuma Ishigaki from 2012’s Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie and the 2015 Space Sheriff Next Generation films. The first installment will join the two police themed heroes as they face a massive space crime organization.

A prologue entitled Girls In Trouble: Space Squad Episode Zero will also be released. Male members of the cast will not appear with the film focusing on the female Dekarangers in what is described as a “sexy girls action movie”. Mayu Kawamoto and Suzuka Morita from the previous Next Generation films and Gavan: The Movie will also return.

The V-cinema is set to be released summer 2017 on DVD and Blu-Ray in conjunction with a theater show. Naruhisa Arakawa (Dekaranger, Gokaiger) is writing and Koichi Sakamoto (Kamen Rider Fourze, Kyoryuger) is directing.
