Tsurutaro Kataoka to Become Oldest Kamen Rider
The 60-year old actor will become a Rider in Kamen Rider Drive’s 44th episode.
Tsurutaro Kataoka, a former professional boxer, currently plays the Chief of the Special Investigations Division, Jun Hoganji, on Drive. In one of the show’s upcoming episodes, he gets to fulfill a childhood dream by becoming Kamen Rider Jun when he dons one of the Mass Produced Mach suits. His unique henshin pose will be reminiscent of comedian Jiro Sakagami’s “Tobimasu Tobimasu” pose.
Kataoka had this to say:
I finally transformed. It matches me well if I do say so myself. It brought back memories of my Hyoukin Zoku (a comedy show) days . This script called me “Kamen Rider Jun.” I was so happy I immediately took a photo.”
Prior to Kataoka, the oldest Rider was Takanori Jinnai, who at 54 played Kamen Rider Sorcerer in the movie, Kamen Rider Wizard In Magic Land.
