“Tanzaburo Tojima Wants To Be A Kamen Rider” Anime Announced
An anime adaptation of the manga series Tanzaburo Tojima Wants To Be A Kamen Rider has been announced.
In March 2025, it was announced that an anime adaptation of Yokusaru Shibata’s 2018 manga series Tanzaburo Tojima Wants To Be A Kamen Rider will be released by Liden Films later in 2025. The story focuses on 40 year-old Kamen Rider fan Tanzaburo Tojima, a man with a lifelong dream of becoming a Kamen Rider himself. Just as he is about to give up on his dream, Tojima is caught up in a robbery attempt by people dressed up as SHOCKER combatants, and his life changes forever.
The role of Tanzaburo Tojima will be voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi (known for his voice acting roles in anime series such as JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba, GaoGaiGar, Gurren Lagann, and Bleach). In an interview given by Konishi for AniPlex, he stated that he was a fan and avid reader of Shibata’s original manga series. Despite losing his voice when he submitted his audition for the anime, he was very happy when he was given the role of Tojima. Konishi went on to state that the cast and crew worked with tremendous passion on the anime series to bring out the charm of Shibata’s manga.
