In December, Televi-Kun Magazine announced a new manga series, Kimi Toku – You Can Film Tokusatsu Too! The first chapter releases on January 26, 2023.

In December, Televi-Kun announced a new manga series Kimi Toku – You Can Film Tokusatsu Too! which is coming to the MangaONE app in late January. So far, two promotional images have been released on Twitter which both showcase a cast of girls with various supplies.

While no official synopsis has been released as of now, the premise is likely centered around a small cast of girls working together to produce tokusatsu productions. The latest promotional image features a girl with twintails, a megaphone, and a kaiju plush which further suggests the premise being about independent tokusatsu production.

Characters

Chiharu Enjoji

Second year high school student and president of the Tokusatsu Club. In addition to directing their activities, Chiharu sees the talents in others and draws those talents out. She also behaves according to the “tokusatsu method.” Chiharu brings Haruka (main character) into the world of toku. She especially loves the Godzilla series.

Haruka Fujimi

First year high school student and an amateur model. Haruka really wants to go viral, but she struggles with looking natural in photos. She knows nothing about tokusatsu but is pulled into the Tokusatsu Club as part of a fated encounter with Chiharu (who orchestrated the encounter). Haruka is a foodie and eats a lot.

Prita Nin Nawat

Second year high school student and a member of the Tokusatsu Club. Prita is extremely athletic, but her strongest skill is design. She collects tokusatsu toys and prioritizes preordering the things she wants when preorders open, even during filming. She loves the Kamen Rider series.

Mami Imamiya

A second year high school student and vice president of the Tokusatsu Club. Mami is in charge of building the sets and creating the costumes, both hero and monster. She’s typically quiet but completely flips a switch when she’s engrossed in creating something. She’s particularly fond of the Ultraman series.

Noa Kurama

Member of the Tokusatsu Club and a second year high school student. She loves writing stories and is in charge of the scenes. Noa and Chiharu have been friends since childhood, Noa is always around for Chiharu’s antics. She’s not great with cheery people, so she wasn’t entirely onboard with bringing Haruka into the club. She loves the Super Sentai series.

The first chapter of Kimi Toku – You Can Film Tokusatsu Too! will release on the MangaONE app on January 26, 2023. The manga is written by Yume Mizusawa who wrote both the SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon novelizations, and the art is by Ryota Yuzuki (Gonna Be The Twin-Tail!!). Toei Producer Hideaki Tsukada (Kamen Rider W, Kamen Rider Fourze, Mashin Sentai Kiramager) is involved in assisting with Kimi Toku‘s initial planning and drafting.
