This Week in Tokusatsu Merchandise 8/09/21 – 8/20/21

The tokusatsu merchandise roundup for the middle of August 2021 features exclusive merchandise from the Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, and Ultra Series. 

Starting off this weekly roundup, we first have the Kamen Rider x Harold’s Gear D.G Tachibana Racing Club Pit Shirt. It is a pit shirt created by the long-established motorcycle wear brand, Harold’s Gear Designers Guild (HGDG).

What if Harold’s Gear was asked by the Tachibana Racing Club, an independent work shop led by the genius engineer Tohei Tachibana, to create official clothing for their pit crew? The brand started development based on this concept. Kamen Rider #1/Takeshi Hongo’s occupation is a scientist and “auto racer”. As proof of this, the symbol of the Tachibana Racing team, “T and R on the shield (escutcheon),” is decorated on the super machine “Cyclone” that Kamen Rider #1 drives.

A member of the Harold’s Gear Designers Guild, LEFTY TRICK, has worked on the graphics of numerous racing machines, regardless of whether motorcycles or automobiles. Mr. Ito boldly arranged the design of the Cyclone. The design is based on the characteristic red shape lines and the slightly beige body color. On the back is a symbolic large Tachibana logo. An embroidered patch on the left chest. Snack Amigo logo on the right chest. Tachibana logo is on the left shoulder. Kamen Rider 50th anniversary logo is on the right shoulder. The buttons have been designed with a sense of fun incorporated throughout, such as the classic Showa cat-eye buttons.

Pit shirts are team wear worn by the crew in the pits where they can perform maintenance on the machines during races. In other words, it is work clothes worn at the frontline base. As the brand is now forced to work remotely, they wondered what the “pit” was for us. They thought that the “pit” in remote work is “home”. Therefore, The brand searched for a material that could be worn as both outdoor wear and loungewear. As a result, the fabric we used for the pit shirt was surprisingly soft and pleasant to the touch. It can also be used as room wear.

“Since the program started in 1971, Kamen Rider celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2021. With the utmost respect for the work Kamen Rider that has continued to fascinate fans for half a century, the brand hopes that the wearer will be able to enjoy the work. The Kamen Rider Agito Chronograph Watch was made in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Kamen Rider Agito. There are two types of chronograph wristwatches with images of the world of Kamen Rider Agito. These chronograph watches are based on the images of Kamen Rider Agito Grand Form and Kamen Rider G3-X. Each watch has a body that measures 42 mm (W) x 49 mm (H) with a belt width that measures 20 mm and an arm around size of 13.5 cm〜19.5 cm. Both have a case, back cover, crown, and buckle made of stainless steel. The dial and hands are made of brass. The windshield is made of mineral glass.
