Batman Ninja: The Show Confirms Premiere Dates

The 2018 anime film Batman Ninja receives a stage play this fall with former Kamen Rider actors joining a rotating cast.

After being delayed from last year due to coronavirus concerns, the stage play Batman Ninja: The Show will debut this October at Theater Mixa in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. The story will follow the same plot as the 2018 anime movie (known in Japan as Ninja Batman) and follows The Dark Knight as he tries to stop Gorilla Grodd from using his latest invention: a time machine. During the fight, the Caped Crusader and several of his Rogue’s Gallery of villains are thrown through time and space from modern day Gotham City to Japan during the Sengoku period. Upon their arrival, the villains waste no time becoming feudal lords and taking over territory in an effort to outdo each other. Without the aid of his advanced weapons and tech, its up to Batman to put a stop to Joker’s plans before time is altered irreparably.

The theme for the show will be performed by Japanese metal band GYZE, who are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. Due to the high volume of performances scheduled for the show, four different casts will rotate between each performance. Phase 1 of Batman Ninja: The Show kicks off with the premiere week of shows from October 1st to October 10th. Tickets for the regular performances from October 11th to October 31st are on sale now. Attendees who purchase specific Premiere Week tickets will receive a kunai letter opener or Joker’s folding fan. VIP seats for the regular shows will come with a 2 mask set of either Batman and Joker or Catwoman and Harley Quinn. Other collectibles will be on sale at the performances such as replica Bat-kunai and Batarangs. Both guests and the venue will adhere to preventative measures to combat coronavirus infection. More dates will be announced at a later time for the next phase of shows through December.
