Bandai Tamashii Nations revealed their newest release in the Soul of Chogokin mecha line, the Soul of Chogokin GX-97 Daileon from Kyojū Tokusou Juspion.
Kyojū Tokusou Juspion is the fourth installment of Toei’s Metal Hero Series. Juspion is a wild child of the galaxy, fighting against Satan Gorth and giant monsters called “MegaBeasts” that appear as the antagonists of the story. The final battle each time was focused on the battle between Juspion’s mecha Super Planetary Battle Giant Daileon and the MegaBeasts. In addition, the evil Metal Hero, Mad Gallant, also appears on the enemy side and becomes an icon. It was broadcasted from 1985 to 1986 (46 episodes in total) and has gained immense popularity.
The robot is based on the silvery Super Planetary Battleship Daileon, Juspion travels across worlds to pursue Satan Gorth and is armed with lasers above its bridge called the Daileon Laser. Garbin and Iron Wolf and are stored inside this battleship. When facing a rampaging MegaBeast, Juspion converts Daileon into Super Planetary Battle Giant Daileon to defeat MegaBeasts with its Cosmic Crash rushing double punches.
The figure has two modes: Super Planetary Battleship mode and Combat Giant mode. In the Super Planetary Battleship mode, it measures 170 mm in length and can store mini-figures of Juspion’s other vehicles: Garbin and Iron Wolf. Once transformed into the Combat Giant mode, Daileon measures 185 mm tall and is equipped with the Golden Sword. The figure comes with a set of interchangeable hands. This release will also include a tiny Juspion figure and a display prop for when Daileon is in its Super Planetary Battleship mode. Everything is made of ABS/PVC/die-cast. The Kyojū Tokusou Juspion Soul of Chogokin GX-97 Daileon from Kyojū Tokusou Juspion will go for 18,700 Yen (tax included) and is scheduled for shipment in October 2021. Preorders are being accepted starting April 23, 2021, at 16:00 JST.
