Power Rangers Comic Book Collections Now On Kickstarter

BOOM! Studios has taken to Kickstarter to fund its exclusive hardcover books collecting all 55 issues of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Last Fall, the BOOM! Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comics came to an end with issue #55. In its place, two new comic series were launched: Power Rangers, and Mighty Morphin. Now, all issues in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers run and all key tie-in issues are being collected in six hardcover books.

Pre-orders are being handled through Kickstarter, and exclusive pins are available for day-one physical reward pledges. At the time of writing, the Kickstarter campaign smashed through its base goal and first two stretch goals with 29 days left.

The books included in this pre-order campaign are Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Year One, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Year Two, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Shattered Grid, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Beyond the Grid, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Necessary Evil I, and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Necessary Evil II.

For those pledging within the first 24 hours, an exclusive set of 6 Power Ranger helmet enamel pins drawn by Daniel Bayliss will be added as a bonus. These pins will not be added to your pledge if you pledge after 1pm EST on January 6, 2021 or if you do not pledge to a rewards tier including physical rewards.

The books come in three categories at various pledge levels.

Mighty Kickstarter Edition

These are the base level books offered in this campaign with exclusive cover artwork by Goñi Montes. Fans can order one for $100 or a full set with a collectible box featuring art from either Nick Robles or Dan Mora for $500. For $550, fans will also receive an exclusive “jam” art print signed by Daniele Di Nicuolo, Simone Di Meo, and Walter Baiamonte. When ordering one book, others can be added a la carte later.

Morphin Kickstarter Edition

These include the Mighty Kickstarter Edition books plus an exclusive slipcase with different art by Goñi Montes. Fans can order one for $125 or a full set with a collectible box featuring art from either Nick Robles or Dan Mora for $600. For $650, fans will also receive an exclusive “jam” art print signed by Daniele Di Nicuolo, Simone Di Meo, and Walter Baiamonte. When ordering one book, others can be added a la carte later.

Megazord Kickstarter Edition

These include everything the Morphin Kickstarter Edition full set has plus an acetate sleeve for each book featuring an energized Morpher on the front and new artwork of a portion of the Megazord on the back. This artwork is designed to fit into a 4’+ Megazord standee display which comes with every Megazord Edition order. This set is available at the $800 tier.

For $1400, the Megazord Kickstarter Edition will include signatures from Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver/ Mighty Morphin Green Ranger and White Ranger), Amy Jo Johnson (Kimberly Hart/ Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger), David Yost (Billy Cranston/Mighty Morphin Blue Ranger), Walter Jones (Zack Taylor/Mighty Morphin Black Ranger), Karan Ashley (Aisha Campbell/Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger), and Steve Cardenas (Rocky DeSantos/Mighty Morphin Red Ranger). The previously mentioned signed “jam” art print can be added to the $1400 tier for an extra $50.

At $2000, fans will receive everything from the $1450 tier plus a 7″x10″ original full figure black and white lineart drawing by Moises Hidalgo. For $3000, fans will receive everything from the $1450 tier plus a 7″x10″ full color original full figure drawing of each themselves as one of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers drawn by Marco Renna.

The highest available reward tier is $5000 which will include everything from the $1450 tier plus a 7″x10″ full color original full figure drawing of each themselves as one of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers drawn by Dan Mora. Most notably, this tier will also include an exclusive page in one of the books featuring the fan making this pledge as a Power Ranger.

All reward tiers that include either the signed “jam” art print, the Megazord Kickstarter Edition rewards, or both are limited in quantity with the most exclusive being the $5000 tier at just 5 available at the start of the campaign. At the time of writing, there are only two left of the $5000 reward tier. Fans looking to pledge should check the official Kickstarter campaign page for details of remaining quantities.

At the time of writing, two stretch goals have been unlocked:

Cold foil added on the front and back of the hardcover for all editions

Unsigned print added to all editions.

The next stretch goal will unlock once the campaign reaches $200,000 and will add “spot UV” to the slipcase on all Morphin and Megazord editions. All stretch goals beyond this point are currently hidden.

The pre-order campaign for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Complete Comic Book Collections will end on Thursday, February 4th 2021 at 2pm EST. The exclusive enamel pin set will only be available until 1pm EST on January 6th, 2021.
