This Week in Tokusatsu Merchandise 10/19/20 – 10/23/20

The tokusatsu merchandise roundup for this second to last week in October features new items from Ryusoulger, Kamen Rider, Godzilla, and the Ultra Series. 

Starting off, we have the Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger wristwatches. The watches come in two designs: Ryusoulgers and Druidon. The Ryusoulger model uses a dial with the Ryusouger symbol and seven sword tips for each Ryusoulger (red, blue, pink, green, black, gold, and purple). In addition to the Druidon model featuring the Druidon symbol, the Druidon model is an in-dial with a motif of chess pieces. The case, back cover, and crown are made of stainless steel. The band is made of cowhide. The dial and hands are made of brass. The windshield is made from mineral glass and the machine used is the MIYOTA 2035 (Quartz Made in Japan). The watch body measures a width of 36 mm x length of 44.5 mm x thickness of 11.5 mm. The band measures a width of 18 mm. The arm circumference/adaptation size is approximately 14.0-19.0 cm. Both are daily life waterproof.

The Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger wristwatches from Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger will go for 14,850 Yen (tax included) each and are scheduled for shipment in April 2021. Preorders are being accepted starting October 19, 2020, at 11:00 JST until November 15, 2020, at 23:00 JST.

Switching gears to the Kamen Rider category, we have the Kamen Rider x New Era collaboration which includes baseball caps, t-shirts, and backpacks. Each product is inspired by the first Kamen Riders of each era: Kamen Rider No. 1, Kamen Rider Kuuga, and Kamen Rider Zero-One.

First there’s the Kamen Rider x New Era baseball caps. There are two types available: 9THIRTY and 9FIFTY. Besides the design, the main difference between the two is that the 9THIRTY caps are made of 100% cotton and come in free size (56.8 cm to 60.6 cm) while the 9FIFTY caps are made of 100% polyester on the front and 100% cotton on the back. It comes in free size (57.7 cm to 61.5 cm).

The Kamen Rider No. 1 x New Era 9THIRTY black cap features the Shocker mask embroidered on the front with one-point embroidery, making it easy to coordinate.

The Kamen Rider No. 1 x New Era 9FIFTY black cap features Kamen Rider No.1’s Transformation Belt Typhoon, boldly embroidered on the front.

The Kamen Rider Kuuga x New Era 9THIRTY baseball cap features Kamen Rider Kuuga’s symbol casually embroidered for a look that is easy to coordinate.

The Kamen Rider Kuuga x New Era 9FIFTY baseball cap features Kamen Rider Kuuga’s symbol boldly expressed with gold embroidery on a red cap as well as gold Linto characters from the TV series.

The Kamen Rider Zero-One x New Era 9THIRTY baseball cap features an original design that replaces Zero One’s “ONE” with the New Era logo.

The Kamen Rider Zero-One x New Era 9FIFTY baseball cap features the New Era logo with Kamen Rider Zero-One’s helmet design inside it.

The Kamen Rider x New Era 9THIRTY baseball caps will go for 6,050 Yen (tax included) each while the 9FIFTY baseball caps will go for 7,480 Yen (tax included) each.

Next are the Kamen Rider x New Era t-shirts. Each shirt is made of 100% cotton and comes in sizes: XS (US XXS), S (US XS), M (US S), L (US M), XL (US L), and XXL (US XL).

The Kamen Rider No.1 x New Era t-shirt features an unprecedented original collaboration design that fuses the image of Kamen Rider No. 01’s transformation belt, Typhoon, with the seal design of New Era.

The Kamen Rider Kuuga x New Era t-shirt features a combination of the New Era logo with the Kamen Rider Kuuga helmet design.

The Kamen Rider Zero-One x New Era t-shirt features a combination of the New Era logo with the Kamen Rider Zero-One Rising Hopper Progrise Key.

The Kamen Rider x New Era t-shirts will go for 5,500 Yen (tax included) each.

The final items in this collection are the Kamen Rider x New Era backpacks. Each backpack is made of 100% polyester and is free size. The capacity is approximately 35L, the height is approximately 650 mm, the width is approximately 320 mm, and the depth is approximately 240 mm.

The Kamen Rider No. 1 x New Era backpack features the Tachibana Racing Club/Double Riders logo as well as the Kamen Rider TV series logo.

The Kamen Rider Kuuga x New Era backpack features the Kamen Rider Kuuga symbol in gold as well as the words “MASKED RIDER KUUGA”

The Kamen Rider Zero-One x New Era backpack features Kamen Rider Zero-One’s helmet design/symbol and the original design that replaces Zero One’s “ONE” with the New Era logo.

The Yoshihito Sugahara Project is once again collaborating with Kamen Rider to bring the Kamen Rider Kabuto “Masked Rider System” t-shirt. The Kamen Rider Kabuto “Masked Rider System” t-shirt features Kamen Riders Kabuto, Gattack, The Bee, Sasword, and Drake. This t-shirt has a particularly strong artistic color in the Yoshihito Sugahara project catalog, which depicts the brave figures of Kamen Riders transformed by the special combat system developed by ZECT on the entire surface of the t-shirt like a canvas. The shirt is made of 100% cotton and comes in sizes: M (US S), L (US M), and XL (US L).

The Yoshihito Sugahara Project Kamen Rider Kabuto “Masked Rider System” t-shirt from Kamen Rider Kabuto will go for 4,180 Yen (tax included) and is scheduled for shipment in January 2021. Preorders are being accepted starting October 20, 2020, at 10:00 JST.

Next, we have the Kamen Rider Saber Character t-shirt. The shirt features Kamen Rider Saber on the front and the words “KAMEN RIDER SABER” on the back with his logo. The shirt is made of 100% cotton and comes in M (US S), L (US M), and XL (US L).

The Kamen Rider Saber Character t-shirt from Kamen Rider Saber will go for 3,630 Yen (tax included) and is scheduled for shipment in December 2020.

In collaboration with PIICA, Premium Bandai announced their Kamen Rider Zero One PIICA + Clear Pass Cases featuring the characters from Kamen Rider Zero One. Each card catches radio waves and shines when you hold it over your IC card. There’s built-in LED in each card so no batteries are required. Cards available include: Kamen Rider Zero-One, Kamen Rider Rampage Vulcan, Kamen Rider Valkyrie, Kamen Rider Thouser, Kamen Rider Horobi, Kamen Rider Jin Burning Falcon, Kamen Rider Ikazuchi, Kamen Rider Naki, Is, Kamen Rider Zero-Two, and Kamen Rider Horobi Ark Scorpion. One of the 12 kinds available will be delivered at random.

This “PIICA (R) Pika (R)” emits light when it is held over a non-contact type IC card reader. It can be used with transportation IC cards (automatic ticket gates), electronic money IC cards (electronic money payment machines such as convenience stores and vending machines), and ID cards (ID check machines). The method of light emission may vary depending on the machine.
Please read the following notes before use:

• Be sure to insert only the electronic money IC card into the machine when inserting the card into the device due to transportation system, cash charge or renewal of commuter pass.
• Please do not insert this card (shining card) into the machine as it may cause a malfunction.
• This product can be used only with a non-contact type IC card reader.
• If you sandwich a metal plate between this product and the reader, it will not emit light.
• It may be difficult to see the light emitting part under direct sunlight or strong lighting.

Each PIICA card measures approx. 53.5 mm x 85 mm x 1.2 mm while the clear pass case measures approx. 59.7 mm x 101.5 mm x 4 mm, and the dress-up card measures approx. 53.5 mm x 85 mm. The cards/passes are made of three LED bulbs, PC, PET, and paper.

The Kamen Rider Zero-One PIICA + clear pass cases featuring 12 of the characters from the TV series will go for 1,650 Yen (tax included) each and are scheduled for shipment in December 2020. Preorders are being accepted until November 15, 2020 at 23:00 JST.

The King of Monsters franchise has made its way into this week’s roundup. Premium Bandai is releasing new Godzilla x STUDIO696 t-shirts featuring King Ghidorah and Mothra Larva. Both shirts are made of 100% cotton and come in sizes: S (US XS), M (US S), L (US M), XL (US L), and XXL (US XL).

The Godzilla x STUDIO696 King Ghidorah t-shirt features King Ghidorah and the Dorats with a cool color scheme. On the bottom the word “KING GHIDORAH” is printed in a cool logo design format. The shirt is available in both green and pink.

The Godzilla x STUDIO696 Mothra Larva t-shirt features a POP and punk inspired design of Mothra in its larva state. The word “MOTHRA” is printed in a cool logo design above the character. The shirt is available in black and white.

The Godzilla x STUDIO696 King Ghidorah t-shirt and the Godzilla x STUDIO696 Mothra Larva t-shirt will both go for 3,630 Yen (tax included) each and are scheduled for shipment in December 2020. Preorders are being accepted until November 15, 2020, at 23:00 JST.

In collaboration with SEIKO, Premium Bandai is bringing us Ultraman Tiga, Ultraman Dyna, Ultraman Gaia x SEIKO (TDG Limited Edition) watches. In this project, each is a special watch designed with the image of the Defense Corps that appears in all three great series that spun out a new history. In addition, a luxurious specification that comes with a specially designed multiple acrylic stand is designed with Ultraman Tiga, Ultraman Dyna, Ultraman Gaia and the Defense Corps mark.
You can enjoy it not only by wearing it but also by decorating it. Three types are available: GUTS, Super GUTS, and XIG.

Each set includes a watch, a special box, a special acrylic stand, instruction manual, and warranty. The case (watch body) is made of stainless steel. The band is made of leather. The glass is made of Hardlex, and the acrylic stand is made of acrylic. The arm circumference measures approximately 13.0 to 18.0 cm in total length. The can width measures 18 mm.
