Tokusatsu Actors Join Cast Of Touken Ranbu: Siege of Osaka Stage Show

You Maejima of Kamen Rider Amazons and Ryo Matsuda of Kamen Rider Gaim will join the cast of the Touken Ranbu: Seige of Osaka.

Two tokusatsu actors will be joining the cast of the stage show Touken Ranbu: Seige of Osaka. You Maejima (Chihiro/Kamen Rider Amazons) and Ryo Matsuda (Hideyasu Jonouchi/Kamen Rider Gaim) will join the cast for the first of the two plays.

Ryo Matsuda will play Kashuu Kiyomitsu, an uchigatana owned by Souji Okita of the Shinsengumi. You Maejime will play Namazuo Toushirou, a wakizashi which was owned by Hideyoshi Toyotomi.

Touken Ranbu is a long-standing franchise that focuses around famous sword brought to life that travel to different points of Japanese history to prevent the history being altered by the Time Retrograde Army. Both actors are portraying “Touken Danshi” (sword men) that will be a part of the team that travels to the time of the winter campaign of the Siege of Osaka.

Touken Ranbu: Seige of Osaka will feature two plays, Winter Campaign and Summer Campaign. The two shows will be based on the historical events of the same names which took place near the end of the Sengoku period. The Siege of Osaka is about the fall of the Toyotomi clan to the Tokugawa shogunate. The events of the Winter Campaign will be of significance to Maejime’s character as it will focus on the fall of the Tototomi.

The Winter Campaign of Touken Ranbu: Seige of Osaka will take place from January to March 2021. The Summer Campaign will take place from April to June 2020. Both shows will take place at the IHI Stage Around Tokyo. This theatre features a rotating 360 degree stage that the actors will perform on.
