Howl From Beyond The Fog Coming To North America
SRS Cinema has licensed Daisuke Sato’s Howl from Beyond the Fog for North American distribution.
Daisuke Sato’s kaiju film, Howl from Beyond the Fog, has been licensed to SRS Cinema for distribution in North America. A rough cut of the film premiered at last year’s G-Fest, but SRS Cinema’s upcoming releases will be the finalized version.
An independently produced tokusatsu film from director Daisuke Sato, Howl from Beyond the Fog relies heavily on classic practical effects like bunraku puppetry and suitmation. The film was funded through Kickstarter, and the following plot summary comes from the its Kickstarter campaign:
“Howl from Beyond the Fog is set during the Meiji reformation era in a small village in Kyushu, Japan. The story revolves around a young boy named Izana and a blind woman named Takiri, the two encounter the large monster Nebula who since ancient times was feared as the god of lake Amenosagiri.“
Pre-orders for Blu-ray and VHS special editions are scheduled to open next month while wider releases are expected in 2021, including video on-demand distribution.
