Gokaiger Now Uploading to Toei Tokusatsu YouTube Channel

The Japan-exclusive YouTube release of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger on the official Toei Tokusatsu YouTube channel started on Sunday.

This past Sunday, April 19th, marks the beginning of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger‘s new run on the Toei Tokusatsu YouTube channel. The 2011 show’s first two episodes were premiered using YouTube’s “premiere” feature, and two episodes will be uploaded every week.

These uploads will end in October with the final episodes. The expected date of the final upload will be October 18th, 2020. Until then, longtime Super Sentai fans and children in Japan will be able to relive the Super Sentai Series‘s 35th anniversary show as pirates from space, the Gokaigers, learn about the importance of Earth’s Sentai.

Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger begins with a battle that includes all thirty-four Super Sentai from before the events of the show. This battle ends with Earth’s Super Sentai protecting the planet from the Space Empire Zangyack while also sacrificing their powers. With their powers scattering throughout space in the form of Ranger Keys, a band of pirates in search of the greatest treasure in the universe uses those keys to find their treasure.

These showy pirates can use the Ranger Keys to transform into any Sentai through history, but they must earn the “greater powers” of each team in order to accomplish their goal. Along the way, the selfish pirates might just learn what it means to be heroes as they clash with the returning Zangyack empire.

The show stars Ryota Ozawa as Captain Marvelous/Gokai Red, Yuki Yamada as Joe Gibken/Gokai Blue, Mao Ichimichi as Luka Millfy/Gokai Yellow, Kazuki Shimizu as Don “Hakase” Dogoyer/Gokai Green, Yui Koike as Ahim De Famille/Gokai Pink, Junya Ikeda as Gai Ikari/Gokai Silver, and Yukari Tamura as the voice of Navi. Tomokazu Seki plays the show’s narrator and provides the voice of the Gokaigers’ equipment.

Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger will be uploading to the Toei Tokusatsu YouTube channel in two-episode batches every Sunday. Again, this release will be region-locked to Japan.
