Kaiju Film “Gappa: The Triphibian Monster” To Receive A Blu-ray Release In North America

The retro tokusatsu film Gappa: The Triphibian Monster will release on Blu-ray in North America.

The 1967 kaiju film Gappa: The Triphibian Monster is set for a Blu-ray release in the United States on February 27, 2020. The film, produced by Nikkatsu Studios, centers on a group of reporters who bring an infant bird-lizard monster (known as a “Gappa”) to Japan from its native home island. This action invokes the wrath of the baby Gappa’s full-grown parents, who threaten to wreak destruction and havoc on Japan.

Gappa: The Triphibian Monster was directed in 1967 by director Haruyasu Noguchi. The story was written by Akira Watanabe, and the screenplay was written by Ryuzo Nakaishi and Iwao Yamazaki.
