Summary of Zi-O SG Watcher: Vol.35
From the archive of Bandai’s candy toy blog series for Kamen Rider Zi-O, with a plentiful reveal for SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O: RIDE PLUS.
The man currently in charge of candy toy development goes by G, and in honor of Zi-O, he is now going by the name Gi-O.
Gi-O begins by revealing the first and second items in RIDE PLUS, Kamen Rider Decade. The figure features the Neo DecaDriver as seen in Zi-O.
With the Option Parts Set, fans can display Decade in a variety of ways. The set comes with a pair of open hands made for Decade, as well as his Ride Booker weapon in its sword and gun modes, as well as a hand that’s holding the open Ride Booker. Decade’s original DecaDriver is also included.
The Option Parts Set also features an alternate head for Decade’s Violent Emotion state, as seen in Movie Taisen 2010. This evil version of Decade is displayed recreating a few scenes from the movie. They also included the Gigant, a weapon associated with Kamen Rider G4, which Decade uses while in this state.
The inclusion of the Gigant weapon spurs on a humorous exchange that Gi-O shares between him and D, the former person in charge of the SO-DO Build/Zi-O blog updates. He recalls how this was supposed to be a wave exclusively for the “Miriders”, but D strongly pushed for the inclusion of Decade. Not only that, but also the Gigant.
G: “Why did you propose that the Gigant be included?”
D: “I really wanted to include the Side Basshar too!”
G: “Wouldn’t you do the Machine Decader first?”
D: “I hope to someday also include Kamen Rider J!”
For context, the Side Basshar is the bike used by Kamen Rider Kaixa, which Decade rode in Movie Taisen 2010, with the Gigant, to fight a giant sized Kamen Rider J.
Although Gi-O said that he got an X as an answer, he got an O for enthusiasm. And in small print, confirms there are no plans for making any of these items.
Other items included in the Option Parts Set are a pair of right hands with a Rider Card, replicating Decade’s iconic card holding poses. There are stickers included for Final AttackRide Decade, and KamenRide cards for Agito, Ryuki, Hibiki, Wizard, Ghost and Build – all of which are cards used in Zi-O.
An important detail to bring up about SO-DO’s play style is that the belts are all attached in the same way, meaning the figures can all act as forms for Decade.
Gi-O then proceeds to show off Decade in various referential scenes using both SO-DO and SHODO products…
… ending with a teaser.
DienDriver: “AttackRide! Invisible!”
Diend: “Please introduce me as soon as possible.”
The next update would be on May 12th.
