Kamen Rider Zi-O’s Keisuke Watanabe Held Photobook Event for Fans
Keisuke Watanabe, known as Woz from Kamen Rider Zi-O, spends time with his fans promoting his new photobook.
On June 29th, there was much rejoicing in Shinjuku, as Keisuke Watanabe was holding a fan event to promote his first photobook. The photobook was released to the public on June 26th, meant to coincide with the first anniversary of Watanabe’s moving to Tokyo. The pictures were taken in his hometown of Miyagi and featured him doing some of his favorite things at his favorite places. Keisuke Watanabe is currently found on televisions in Japan portraying Woz in Kamen Rider Zi-O where he aides the main character Sougo on his quest to become king.
The event was a special launch event where you were able to meet with Watanabe for a photo op and special handshake. Fans were able to choose whether they wanted a pose as “Black Woz” or “White Woz” which references the alternate universe version of his character in Kamen Rider Zi-O.
There was also a Q&A segment where Watanabe answered fan questions from those attending the event. Fans learned that his favorite photo in the book has him drinking a beer, his favorite activity. The photo in particular captures a genuine smile on Watanabe’s face, as he was excited he could finally enjoy a drink after shooting for two days straight.
When asked about what the future holds, Watanabe admitted that he would like to play a modern human in his next role, which starkly contrasts his mysterious character, Woz, who comes from the distant future. He assured fans that he loves performing as Woz and is happy the character has been so well received.
The event ended with Watanabe thanking his fans for purchasing the photobook and for their continued support in his career. Over 3,000 books were purchased at the event.
