LGBTQ Magical Girl SuperHero Comic Combo Brings Love and Spirit
There’s a cute superhero girl taking Kickstarter by storm, just in time for Pride Month.
Her name is Eri, and she’s ready to fight for justice. Created by Diane Solis, a 29 year old comic creator, Eri is the main character of Star Rangers: Magical Space Cadet, a comic that blurs the lines between mahou shoujo and tokusatsu themes, all in the name of LGBTQ pride.
Eri daydreams of being a superhero and gets the opportunity to show she is more than just your ordinary girl. She ends up being enrolled into a school for young space cadets by her mother, who is part of an underground society for intergalactic heroes. The comic features a unique charm that is reminiscent of classic anime and carries itself with a humorous and stylistic tone.
The Kickstarter for this project began on June 1st and has already met its goal of $1,500. At the time of this article, the project has already passed $2,000 in pledges. Backers of the project can expect to receive digital and physical copies of the comic, and if you pledge higher you could receive exclusive prints, trading cards, and even your name featured in the book.
The Kickstarter will be running until July 1, 2019 and is currently expected to be fully funded. You are still able to back the project until this date.
