Kamen Rider Alumni to Appear in Summer Television Drama, Lupin’s Daughter
The TV drama Lupin’s Daughter will feature actors from Kamen Rider.
It was announced recently that Hiroshi Fujioka and Koji Seto would be appearing as series regulars in Lupin’s Daughter. This will be Fujioka’s first Fuji TV appearance in 18 years.
When asked what he thought about the project, Fujioka expressed a strong interest in the story and premise of the show, while also being excited to be working with many talented actors and actresses spanning many generations. He also found the different concepts of “thieves” from past and present to be an interesting contrast, and hoped that the summer series would be expanded upon, perhaps into a film.
When asked if he had any message to fans and viewers, he stated, “This show has a new approach for the Reiwa era, and his both a human and historical drama that has the feel of the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras. I hope you enjoy this drama. I feel it is a breakthrough in terms of the visual world, so please look forward to it!”
Lupin’s Daughter is based on the novel of the same name and stars Kyoko Fukada in the role of Hana Mikumo, the titular daughter of Lupin who is carrying on the “family business.” Koji Seto stars opposite her as Kazuma Sakuraba, the son of a family of police officers, and the series will be a romantic comedy. Hiroshi Fujioka portrays Kazuma’s grandfather, Waichi Sakuraba.
Lupin’s Daughter will air Thursday nights at 10 PM JST starting in July.
