Toy Story 4 Adds Kyoryuger’s Ryo Ryusei To Japanese Dub Cast
The former Kyoryuger star Ryo Ryusei will provide his voice for the upcoming Japanese dub of Toy Story 4.
Earlier this week, it was announced that actor Ryo Ryusei has been added to the Japanese dub cast of Disney/ Pixar’s Toy Story 4. Ryusei will be providing the voice for one of the newer characters, Forky. In the new movie, Forky is a makeshift toy made from various items that Bonnie absolutely falls in love with. When Forky can’t reconcile his new role as a toy with his previous purpose as a utensil and runs away, it’s up to Woody and Buzz to track him down before Bonnie finds that he’s missing.
When asked about taking on his first voice acting role, Ryusei commented that he had some previous experience having done ADR for Super Sentai, but this was something else. Despite having some difficulty with the English to Japanese translation, Ryusei said it was a pleasure to work on the film, as he had grown up with the previous Toy Story movies. The producers stated the role went to Ryusei as a result of his ability to both carry a strong presence, but also convey the lightness and sense of humor that the character needs to convey his pure heart.
Ryusei is best known for his role as Daigo “King” Kiryu/ KyoryuRed in 2013’s Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger, which had it’s footage adapted into Power Rangers Dino Charge and Power Rangers Super Dino Charge.
