Summary of Zi-O SG Watcher: Vol.27
Bandai’s candy toy blog posted a new entry for Kamen Rider Zi-O, with a first look at SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O: RIDE 8 and RIDE PLUS.
The man in charge of candy toy development goes by D, and in honor of Zi-O, he has changed his usual nickname to Di-O.
“Final FormTime: Bu-Bu-Bu-Build!”
The blog begins the SO-DO coverage with the reveal of Zi-O in DecadeArmor: BuildForm.
In a recent commercial about the completeness of the SO-DO line, fans were quick to notice this form in the group shot. Di-O cheekily explains that this was very much intentional, as he wanted to mix things up by showing it there first instead of the standard blog reveal.
In relation to this, despite how long ago DecadeArmor was made, SO-DO still aims to make figures of its subforms.
BuildForm is based on Build’s RabbitTank Sparkling Form, which received a release in SO-DO Kamen Rider Build: BUILD 5. There are some key differences between the two – the most notable difference is the use of swappable hands, as well as the different armor gimmick.
For those unfamiliar, Build featured figures whose torsos separated diagonally, meaning it did not have the swappable armor parts seen in Ex-Aid and Zi-O. Because of this, a new figure was made for BuildForm that does not split diagonally.
Also included with the armor is the Drill Crusher weapon from BuildArmor, which is the same weapon included with RIDE 1.
Since this was a brief update, Di-O also decided to show RIDE PLUS, a previously teased set that would be coming out in June. This bonus wave includes Shinobi, Quiz, Kikai, and Decade with his Neo DecaDriver. The images are of prototypes, and the final products will be shown on the blog at a later date.
The wave also features a 5th box, which is dedicated to accessories. Decade will receive a wide range of display options, including open hands, the Ride Booker in all modes, two different ways to hold a Rider Card, the original DecaDriver, and even a Violet Emotion helmet and Gigant to replicate his role as a villain in the Movie Taisen 2010 crossover. Among these, Shinobi’s swords are also included, as he is the only future Rider with weaponry. As a reminder, no display stands are included in this wave.
Di-O ends by saying that the next blog post will be on March 10th.
