Hello Kitty x Kamen Rider Den-O Collaboration Announced
Yuichi Nakamura was on hand to celebrate the collaboration with the popular Kamen Rider Den-O series.
Earlier this week at SANRIO EXPO 2019, a new collaboration was announced to commemorate the 60th anniversary and 45th anniversary of the Hello Kitty and Kamen Rider franchises, respectively. This marks the second collaboration with Hello Kitty, considering the brand’s previous collaboration with Kamen Rider 555 last year. Slated to come out later this year, Sanrio will be producing bags, towels, key chains and plush collectibles featuring Hello Kitty dressed as Kamen Rider Den-O, Kamen Rider Zeronos, or as one of the main six Imagin characters: Momotaros, Urataros, Kintaros, Ryutaros, Sieg, and Deneb. Additional items will be announced later this year.
Actor Yuichi Nakamura was on hand to speak on his time working on Kamen Rider Den-O, sporting one of the collaboration’s new shirts as well as his Zeronos Driver transformation device. He was joined onstage by Momotaros as well as his trusted partner, Deneb. Nakamura stated that much like his character on the show, he too did not care for shiitake mushrooms, but thanks to a combination of the role and Deneb, he was able to get over his distaste for the food.
Originally airing in 2007, Kamen Rider Den-O was a massive hit for Toei, spawning several sequels, merchandise and spin-offs. Nakamura, who played Yuto Sakurai/Kamen Rider Zeronos in the series has returned to the role several times over the past decade. He first reprised the role for for Cho Den-O Trilogy: Episode Red in 2010, and then again in the Super Hero Taisen: Kamen Rider 3 and Kamen Rider 4 movies during the run of 2014’s Kamen Rider Drive.
