Summary of Zi-O SG Watcher: Vol.25

Bandai’s candy toy blog posted a new entry for Kamen Rider Zi-O, with multiple SO-DO reveals.

The man in charge of candy toy development goes by D, and in honor of Zi-O, he has changed his usual nickname to Di-O.

The blog begins with a link to a new commercial for SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O, voiced by Shigeru Chiba of Dragon Ball and Kyoryuger fame, titled “SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O: Completion Proclamation!”

This is Bandai’s way of stating, without a doubt, that any and every Rider/form that appears in Zi-O will make it into the SO-DO figure line. The video features the tagline “I will make it part of SO-DO.”

On the blog proper, Di-O states:

“In all honesty, we don’t know what new appealing characters will appear in Kamen Rider Zi-O, but every new Kamen Rider/form that appears will make it into SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O, even if it takes some time.”

The video is notable for revealing a few first looks at future releases.

For starters, it confirms that there will be Another Riders – namely Another Build, Another Ex-Aid, Another Faiz and Another Gaim. These are shown as digital prototypes and their exact release format is not stated, other than they will be in a set similar to the recently announced RIDE PLUS set with the future Riders.

Additionally, the video shows Kamen Rider Cross-Z Evol, the form that Cross-Z takes in his upcoming V-Cinext movie, Build New Word: Kamen Rider Cross-Z. The panning shot of the releases so far also features Woz in his FutureRing Kikai form, which is set to debut in the next episode, and Zi-O’s DecadeArmor: BuildForm. There is one more thing teased, but it is the subject of this blog entry.

First, however, Di-O lets everyone know about SG RideWatch 06 just as it’s been released. The set includes the final forms of Drive and Ghost, along with Build’s RabbitDragon Form, Evol’s Black Hole Form, and G3-X from Kamen Rider Agito. The Build RabbitDragon Form RideWatch is relevant to recent SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O reveals, as the form will be included in RIDE 6.

Speaking of, the next SO-DO reveal is…

Woz: “You will rise to become the ruler of time, by walking the path of conquest.”

Tsukuyomi: “This is you, 50 years later: The lowest, most terrible overlord.”

Geiz: “I came here to prevent the worst possible future brought on by you.”

Sogo: “It’s the same dream that I had… Then, that means this person is…”

Ohma Zi-O: “My younger self, whatever future you choose… I look forward to seeing it.”

After much wait, the full reveal of Kamen Rider Ohma Zi-O. Up to this point, the character has simply been named Ohma Zi-O, even on the official website, so this is the first time the character has received the Kamen Rider title.

Previously, the figure for Zi-O II was the first use of PVC in the line, and it has been utilized once more to create the band on Ohma Zi-O’s chest, as well as the long clock hands on his back.

When it comes to colors, the figure features plenty of gold which is provided through paint and stickers. Di-O reflects on how they went through various color samples to figure out how to make the paint and stickers match, resulting in a luxurious finish.

Ohma Zi-O does not include any accessories or weapons, as the budget went into the band and clock hands. The figure will still include the usual display stand and the standard hand options.

With that, Ohma Zi-O is revealed to be part of RIDE 7, rather than any sort of bonus set. Next week, February 24th, the final additions to RIDE 7 will be revealed.
