Kamen Rider Den-O’s Takeru Satoh Battles in the New Pokemon Go Commercial

A new commercial for Pokemon Go features Takeru Satoh (Kamen Rider Den-O) as a Pokemon Trainer.In a new Pokemon Go commercial, Takeru Satoh (Ryotaro Nogami, Kamen Rider Den-O) and Ryunosuke Kamiki (Satoh’s co-star playing Seta Sojiro in the Rurouni Kenshin film series) take on the role of Pokemon trainers to show off the brand new player-vs-player battle system. Both trainers are shown hanging out together on a set made to look like Pokemon Go’s overworld map. Before long, they engage in a battle using Pokemon Go. The commercial can be seen below.

An unlisted video provides a look behind the scenes of the commercial. In it, Satoh and Kamiki leave the studio to play Pokemon Go together. You can see that video below.

The commercial is set to air on Japanese television beginning on January 11th. Last month is when Niantic began implementing trainer battles in Pokemon Go. As seen in the commercial, players can select three Pokemon to battle for them against other players. Players can also train for these battles by playing against the computer-controlled team leaders of the game’s three factions.
