Astro Boy: Edge of Time Game Receives an English-Language Steam Launch This Month

Astro Boy: Edge of Time, a free-to-play game based off of Osamu Tezuka’s works, gets an English-language Steam release this month, with some of its characters being voiced by tokusatsu actors. 

Recently, Active Gaming Media and Tezuka Productions announced that free-to-play, digital card game Astro Boy: Edge of Time, based off the works of Osamu Tezuka; will be receiving an English-language launch on Steam this month. Additionally, it will also have the original Japanese-language available, and feature both an online multiplayer mode and a single-player story mode.

The cast of the game includes: Nobunaga Shimazaki ( Iok Kujan from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans S2, Touya Shiun from Super Robot Wars OG: Moon Dwellers) as the Male Protagonist, Satomi Satou ( Ritsu Tainaka from K-On!, Wendy Marvell from Fairy Tail) as the Female Protagonist, Mami Koyama (Arale Norimaki from Dr.Slump, Kei from Akira) as the Phoenix, Hidekatsu Shibata (General Shadow from Kamen Rider Stronger (Eps. 14-38), Captain Zahab from Seijuu Sentai Gingaman) as Goa, Hiroshi Kamiya (Jean-bot from Ultra Zero Fight Season 2, Shou Ronbou/Ryu Violet/Ryu Commander from Uchu Sentai Kyuranger) as Black Jack, Yūichi Nakamura (Beet J. Stag/Stag Buster from Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, Ultraman X from Ultraman X) as Hyakkimaru, Kazuya Nakai (Ultraman Max from Ultraman Max, Garu/Ookami Blue from Uchu Sentai Kyuranger) as Ambassador Magma, Ryotaro Okiayu (Hades God Cyclops from Mahou Sentai Magiranger (Eps. 35-38), Mangetsu Kibaoni from Shuriken Sentai Ninninger (Eps. 39-42)) as Deadcross, Miyuki Sawashiro (Kiva-la from Kamen Rider Decade, Youkai Futakuchi-onna from Shuriken Sentai Ninninger) as both Astro Boy and Atlas, Tomokazu Seki (Arimammoth from Kamen Rider 4, Space Ikadevil from Uchu Sentai Kyuranger) as Professor Ochanomizu, and Yu Kobayashi (Sasha Blouse from Attack on Titan, Ayame Sarutobi from Gin Tama) as Dororo.

The game is being overseen by Osamu Tezuka’s son Macoto Tezuka, and features character redesigns from modern artists, including Hiroya Oku (Gantz, Inuyashiki), NekoshowguN (Lollipop Chainsaw), Satoshi Yoshioka, Hiroshi Matsuyama (president of CyberConnect2), Hiroaki, Seiichirow Hosokawa (.hack//G.U. Trilogy, .hack//Roots), Suda 51 (Killer is Dead, No More Heroes), Sina Faroughi, Juan Fandiño Martín, and Chu Yi-Cheng.

Furthermore, composers Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill franchise) and Giovanni Giorgio Moroder (spearhead of both disco music and electronic dance music) are composing the music.

Lastly,  the story takes place in The Sprawl, a city that lies outside of normal space and time, where characters from different universes gather in peace until the demon king Goa invades. Players take on the role of a “summoner,” who is able to summon “hard light construct” versions of characters they have met in order to fight off Goa.
