The Hero Yoshihiko Third Season Greenlit
Popular comedy series The Hero Yoshihiko returns for a third season later this year.
The Hero Yoshihiko is “a no-budget action-adventure series” that stars Takayuki Yamada as the eponymous hero. Yoshihiko leads a band of colorful characters through a world heavily patterned after RPG video games, especially those in the Dragon Quest franchise. The series is written and directed by Fukuda Yuichi, of Blue Blazes and Mr. Nietzsche in the Convenience Store fame.
The previous two seasons, The Hero Yoshihiko and the Demon King’s Castle and The Hero Yoshihiko and the Key of Evil Spirits, aired in 2011 and 2012. Fans who went on the official site recently were able to unlock a synopsis of the new season, titled The Hero Yoshihiko and the Seven Chosen Ones, after taking a quiz.
The synopsis reads:
The Seven Choses Ones: Hero Yoshihiko emerged victorious from the battle of the God of Darkness, Destark. It has been hundreds of years since the world was saved but it is now under the threat of the Demon of the Skies and it entered a new era of darkness… Yoshihiko and company have been brought back through Buddha’s power and embark on a journey around the world. Will Yoshihiko and the others be able to save the world yet again?
Yuichi took to Twitter to thank the show’s fans.

Thanks to everyone’s support we can have another adventure. I heard the budget is lower, though.
