Atsushi Shiramata from “Gaim” & Kento Ono from “Goseiger” Cast in Upcoming “Fairy Tail” Stage Play
Kamen Rider Gaim‘s Atsushi Shiramata and Tensou Sentai Goseiger‘s Kento Ono are cast in the upcoming live stage show adaptation of Fairy Tail.
The first stage play adaptation of Fairy Tail, the popular manga created by Hiro Mashima, was announced in December of last year and titled, Live Fantasy Fairy Tail.
Atsushi Shiramata, who played Ryoji Hase in Kamen Rider Gaim, and Kento Ono, who played Hyde / Gosei Blue in Goseiger, were announced as additional cast members in January. Shiramata takes on the role of Gray Fullbuster, Fairy Tail’s Ice Mage, while Ono plays Hibiki Lates from the mage guild, Blue Pegasus. They join Shuuto Miyazaki from the group D-BOYS who plays protagonist, Natsu Dragneel.
Additional cast members are to be announced at a later date.
The stage play’s official Twitter account recently posted promotional images of the cast members in full costumes, with Ono as Hibiki Leytis being the most recent revelation.
Fairy Tail manga is currently available in English, initially through Del Rey and later on through Kodansha Comics. New chapters of the manga is also available to read online through Crunchyroll. The anime adaptation is also available to stream through Hulu as well as current simulcasted episodes on Crunchyroll.
Akiko Kodama, who directed the Naruto stage play adaptation, is the Live Fantasy Fairy Tail‘s director and playwright. The stage play will be held at the Sunshine Theater Ikebukuro, Tokyo from April 30th to May 9th 2016.
