Yuuta Mochizuki Unable to Attend Lexington Comic-Con
Lexington Comic-Con announced today that Yuuta Mochizuki will not be attending the convention due to a recent illness and that Mammoth Ranger’s Aohisa Takayasu will be making his first US appearance at the event.
Lexington Comic & Toy Convention informed fans earlier today that Yuuta Mochizuki/Tyrannoranger Geki will not be attending this year’s event due to illness. A recent Facebook post addressed the situation:
We just learned a few days ago that Yuuta Mochizuki had become seriously ill earlier this month. He is now recuperating in Japan, and his doctor has advised against traveling until he is well. Unfortunately, we have to agree. If attending LCTC didn’t mean a 17-hour flight from Tokyo, it might be a different situation but it’s just too risky for him at this point. Mochizuki-san was truly looking forward to seeing all of you in Lexington, and is very sorry to have to cancel his appearance at this time. He hopes to make it up to everyone next year.
The Tokusatsu Network would like to wish Yuuta Mochizuki a speedy recovery.
The convention also announced that Mammoth Ranger Goushi’s actor, Aohisa Takayasu, will be attending Lexington Comic-Con, marking his first attendance in an American convention. After his role in 1992’s Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, Aohisa made a guest appearance in 2011’s Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, reprising his role after almost 20 years.
Aohisa will be joined by Pteraranger Mei’s actor Reiko Chiba, who will also be attending her first American convention, as well as Tiger Ranger Boi’s actor Takumi Hashimoto. In addition, Bin Furuya, the suit actor of Ultraman in the original 1966 TV series and Amagi in Ultraseven will also be in attendance.
Furthermore, several Power Rangers alumni will also attend Lexington Comic-Con including Catherine Sutherland, David Yost, Barbara Goodson, Paul Schrier, Jason Narvy, Walter Jones, and Austin St John .
The Lexington Comic & Toy Convention will be held March 13-15th in Lexington, Kentucky.
