Kikaider Reboot to Get North American DVD Release

After a limited theatrical run in Hawaii, the 2014 film, Kikaider Reboot, will be getting a Region 1 DVD release.

Hawaii-based distributor Generation Kikaida announced their plans via Facebook to release Kikaider Reboot on DVD this December. The movie will be available for sale through GenerationKikaida.com and will contain English subtitles.

Generation Kikaida bought the rights to the film which premiered on October 10th to celebrate the series’ 40th anniversary. Due to high attendance, the limited run was extended twice, finally ending on October 30th. The exact release date for the R1 DVD release of Kikaider Reboot has yet to be announced.

Kikaider became popular in Hawaii after an airing in the 70s, which has lead to series star Ban Daisuke making various appearances in years since. Generation Kikaida has also brought various tokusatsu releases stateside in the past, including Kamen Rider V3, Jinzo Ningen Kikaider, Kikaider 01, and Inazuman.
