Square Enix Makes Changes to Final Fantasy XV Update Due to Rights Issues with Power Rangers
Update to Final Fantasy XV delayed to make changes to costume designs too closely resembling Power Rangers.
Square Enix presented a Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary event on Tuesday January 31st, 2017. During the presentation, it was announced that one of Final Fantasy XV‘s many updates would include a free download of a Magitek Exosuit costume for each of the game’s four main characters. This suit gives the player invincibility for 30 minutes and improves fishing, but can only be used once every 24 hours. The update was originally scheduled to launch on February 21st, 2017.
At this time, there is no official release date for the Magiteck Exosuit update. The update is now awaiting costume redesign to avoid copyright infringement. The Power Rangers film by Lionsgate releases in theaters on March 24th, 2017.
