Special Video on Upcoming Hurricane Polymar Film Released, Opens May 13th
Video from Kadokawa Pictures features new footage from the upcoming Hurricane Polymar film as well as interviews with action director, Koichi Sakamoto, and lead actor, Takeshi Yoroi.
Kadokawa Pictures has released a special video discussing the production of the upcoming live action film adaptation of Hurricane Polymar, based on the Tatsunoko Productions anime series of the same name. The video features an interview with director Koichi Sakamoto discussing the development of the action sequences. Sakamoto cites Kendo, Kung Fu, and other martial arts as the basis for the fight scenes. Sakamoto also uses the special video to discuss his casting direction for the film.
Sakamoto is well known for his stunt direction in many other tokusatsu productions, including Kamen Rider W and Kamen Rider Fourze.
The film, written by Shinsuke Oonishi, features Junpei Mizobata as Takeshi Yoroi who becomes the titular hero, Hurricane Polymar. This will be Mizobata’s first time playing a leading role. In the special video, Mizobata cites learning how to perform a proper backhand attack. Other actors in the film include Yuki Yamada (Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger), Mikie Hara (Kamen Rider Fourze), Yurina Yanagi (Ju-On: The Final Curse), and Satoshi Jinbo (Kamen Rider Fourze).
Tatsunoko Pro’s other animated works include Gatchaman, Casshern, and Time Bokan. Hurricane Polymar is set to release as a nationwide roadshow event on Saturday May 13th, 2017, celebrating the 55th anniversary of Tatsunoko Productions.
