Kamen Rider Drive and Shuriken Sentai Ninninger Summer Movie Official Details Revealed

The Tokusatsu Network attended the June 10th official press event for the upcoming Kamen Rider Drive and Shuriken Sentai Ninninger summer movies, held at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.

Kamen Rider Drive

In the Drive summer movie, titled Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future, the story will revolve around a secret within the Drive Driver that will unchain a cataclysmic event which puts the future at risk.

The new movie exclusive form will be called Super Dead Heat and looks to utilize a Mach Driver instead of the Drive Driver.

Guest stars for Suprise Future include MacKenyu (son of Sonny Chiba) as Eiji Tomari, Shinnosuke’s son. Miwako Kakei as Miku Hanasaki, an idol singer hired to promote the activities of the police.

Producer Shinichiro Shirakura stated that  “We will do things differently next year.” as complaints arose about making the movies too “special”. Official word was also given that next year’s Kamen Rider Ghost will be making an appearance in Surprise Future.

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger

In Shuriken Sentai Ninninger THE MOVIE: The Dinosaur Lord Ninja Technique Quire, the Ninningers will go to a secret hidden village that only ninjas can reach. The village’s castle is threatened by the Samurai Lord of the Kibaoni Army, Juuza Yumihari. Juuza is searching for the “Evil Dragon” said to dwell within. However, the lord of the castle has been turned into a dinosaur due to a curse. Could he be the “Evil Dragon”? The curse will be the start of a great adventure! Toshifumi Fujimoto, of the comedy duo FUJIWARA, will be playing Tatsunosuke Hakkaku/The Dinosaur Lord.

Shojiro Nakazawa, the main director of Juken Sentai Gekiranger, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger and Kamen Rider Wizard, will be directing the film.

They filmed in Shiga and Mie prefectures as well as Iga City, home of the Iga ninja clan, a real ninja clan which was the basis of the Igasaki family in the show.

Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future and Shuriken Sentai Ninninger THE MOVIE: The Dinosaur Lord Ninja Technique Quire will be released as a double-billing in Japan on August 8th.
