Summary of Zi-O SG Watcher: Vol.17

Bandai’s candy toy blog posted a new entry for Kamen Rider Zi-O, revealing the first figure SO-DO’s 5th wave, the long-awaited power-up form.

The man in charge of candy toy development goes by D, and in honor of Zi-O, he has changed his usual nickname to Di-O.

SG RideWatch 04 has just been released, which includes the RideWatches for Gaim, W and Kuuga, along with the toy exclusive Gaim Kachidoki Arms RideWatch and Build RabbitRabbit Form RideWatch, both based on power-up forms of those Riders.

As with the previous post regarding these exclusives, these exclusives only trigger the standard Gaim and Build text scroll on the DX Ziku-Driver.

With that, Di-O then moves on to the reveal of more SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O. The last entry wrapped up RIDE 4‘s contents, so now we move onto RIDE 5, which begins with something different from the armors shown so far…

“ArmorTime: KamenRide! Woo! Decade-Decade, Decade!”

Zi-O in DecadeArmor.

Based on Kamen Rider Decade, the destroyer of worlds and protagonist of 2009’s crossover series, this serves as Zi-O’s first power-up form. While most of the Rider Armors in Zi-O share design traits, DecadeArmor shares very little with them, baring a strong resemblance to Decade himself.

The helmet is unique in that it features a card motif, resulting in a flat face represented by a sticker. The chest also features a barcode pattern for the year 2009 and the name Decade spelled out in numbers.

Due to how unique the form is, DecadeArmor features its very own Action Body Set, complete with a placeholder head. The Ziku-Driver itself is also unique as it features the Decade RideWatch, a considerably wider watch compared to the others. Even the hands are unique, as they have bulkier armor on them, but he does come with the standard fists and open hands. And of course, like every form, a display stand is included.

Last of note on DecadeArmor is the RideHeisaber, the weapon associated with the form. These are the first two slots in RIDE 5.

As many may know at this point, the gimmick of DecadeArmor is its subforms, which are based on power-ups used by the lead Riders. Di-O gives a vague comment on this, saying:

“Also, also–! We are planning on making physical representations for each form of DecadeArmor that are relevant…! Anyway, although there are many forms for Zi-O, we will continue to complete it bit by bit, so please look forward to that!”

The next update will be December 16th.
