Summary of Zi-O SG Watcher: Vol.3

Bandai’s candy toy blog posted a new entry for Kamen Rider Zi-O, fully revealing the first wave of the SO-DO action figure line.

The man in charge of candy toy development goes by D, and in honor of Zi-O, he has changed his usual nickname to Di-O. As the debut of Kamen Rider Zi-O draws near, the schedule at the end of the post was updated to include everything being released in September.

Di-O unveils the SO-DO figure for Kamen Rider Geiz, the futuristic secondary Rider. Rather than katakana like Zi-O, the text on Geiz’s helmet is written in hiragana. Di-O comments on how cool the design is, despite his initial concerns about the idea of the helmet, and has a thing for red Kamen Riders.

“To be honest, when I heard that Zi-O used katakana, then heard that Geiz used hiragana, I thought ‘Hiragana is…’ but that feeling was wiped away the moment I saw the design!”

“Personally, red Riders are also my favorites, so I feel that I’ll be captivated by Geiz for the next year. (laughs)”

Due to the use of the same parts as Zi-O, Geiz will be just as posable, and will also come with alternate open hands.

Geiz will have a dedicated display stand with a sticker depicting his name and emblem. He will also have the Zikan Zax, his signature weapon, in its Ax Mode. Di-O likens the bow/ax weapon to Riders like Chalice, or Baron in Lemon Energy Arms.

Previously, when Di-O concluded the reveal of BuildArmor, he mentioned that there was a secret to it: That secret is that it can also be used by Geiz. Much like with Zi-O, there will be a multi-purpose Action Body released for Geiz, called Armor Changing Kamen Rider Geiz.

Di-O elaborates on the decision to make just one set of armor for Zi-O and Geiz to share, saying that they were originally going to include two types of armor, but it did not fit the play style they wanted to use. Later in the post, Di-O recommends that fans should buy duplicates so that they can display the whole wave together.

With this reveal, the entirely of SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O: RIDE 1 has been revealed. These include two releases to form Zi-O, two releases to form Geiz, the Armor Changing bodies for both characters, and BuildArmor.

Much like various releases in the past, RIDE 1 will also be available in a boxset, for those who want to make a bulk purchase instead of hunting for individual releases.

“SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O: RIDE 1 and RIDE 1 Set will be released on October 1st! As it’ll be released one month after the show’s debut, we hope you enjoy the show’s story and look forward to this release! Next time, we’ll update on September 9th! The keyword is ‘Eyeballs’!”
