Toei’s Message from Space Announced for US Release

Message from Space‘s release was announced during Discotek Media’s Otakon panel this year.

Following up on their announcement of Juspion, Discotek Media has announced the release of Message from Space: Galactic War.

The 27 episode tokusatsu TV series aired in 1978 and was produced by Toei. The series is heavily inspired by Star Wars and is the TV adaptation of a movie of the same name. Hiroyuki Sanada stars in the lead role. The series follows a quest to find heroes chosen by holy seeds scattered throughout the universe in hopes of defeating the Gavanas Empire.

The series will be released as a 27 episode box set on blu-ray, though its release date has yet to be announced.
