The Deadpool 2 actor has signed onto the Monsterverse Godzilla sequel.
This weekend, a new addition has been made to the cast of Godzilla vs Kong in the form of actor Julian Dennsion. Most recently seen as Russell Collins/Firefist in Deadpool 2, it has not yet been disclosed what the specific role he will be playing, aside from being noted as a supporting character. Dennison joins previously announced returning cast members, Ken Watanabe (Inception), Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) and Kyle Chandler (Date Night) for the third entry into Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla based cinematic universe or Monsterverse.
The Monsterverse began with Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla back in 2014, which went on to gross over $500 million worldwide, followed by Kong: Skull Island in 2017. The next movie in the series entitled Godzilla: King of the Monsters, has completed filming and is set to open May 31, 2019, and will be the first to feature Brown and Chandler as father and daughter. The movie will feature Godzilla going up against the likes of Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah.
Directed by Adam Wingard (Death Note), Godzilla vs Kong is currently set to open in May 2020.
