Naoki Tanaka Cast as ‘Herlock Sholmes’ in Lupinranger VS Patranger Summer Movie

The Japanese comedian will be an ‘attractive detective’ in Kaito Sentai Lupinranger vs Keisatsu Sentai Patranger en film.

Noaki Tanaka, a popular Japanese comedian seen on Gaki no Tsukai, has been cast in the upcoming Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger vs Keisatsu Sentai Patranger en film (Phantom Thief Sentai Lunpinranger VS Police Sentai Patranger the Movie) summer movie as the ‘attractive detective, Herlock Sholmes’. The character is based on a character created by Maurice Leblanc, author of the original Arsene Lupin books, from which Lupinranger are based on.

Tanaka commented that it feels like a dream to be able to appear in the Super Sentai series. As a child, the comedian enjoyed the original Sentai series, Himitsu Sentai Goranger, and JAKQ Dengeki-tai. As an adult, Tanaka has seen Engine Sentai Go-Onger and Samurai Sentai Shinkenger with his children.

Teruaki Sugihara will direct the movie while Junko Komura will write its script. The movie will be released on August 4th.
