You really won’t be able to guess what’s going to happen next in this month’s issue of Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers. It is a stellar finale for the series’ first “season,” before SHATTERED GRID begins this spring and the Rangers really take and deliver some hits.

This month’s flashback intro is a quick one showing when Goldar pledged his loyalty to Rita Repulsa and the Putties continuing to be terrifying. The main story picks up right where the last issue left off with the Rangers fighting the shapeshifting Super Putty which had been posing as Kimberly Hart’s boyfriend, Matthew. Our heroes are obviously not happy with finding out about that last bit, and attack the monster all out as it goes between nightmarish forms and duplicates of the Rangers. The Beast holds its own against the Rangers taunting them and their weaknesses, but it comes to an end when Rita, frustrated with the monster playing games with the Rangers, takes direct control and makes her monster grow.

Finster’s creation’s shapeshifting powers are truly something to behold as it becomes a double of the Rangers own Megazord. This mirror fight is a no holds brawl between the two Megazords, with Rita quickly proving to be a foe worthy of the status of big bad. With the Megazord on the ropes the Rangers have to think quickly to save the day, but with creative use of their individual Zords they bring the fight to an end and stop Rita’s threat for now.

The ending scenes see the Ranger’s debriefing at Zordon’s Base with Billy coming to a decision on if he’ll leave the team. Afterward, we see the Ranger’s at school the next day dealing with the fallout of what happened at the Homecoming dance, and their other recent decisions.

With the Go Go Power Ranger‘s portion of Shattered Grid beginning next month, the hype for this comic is very real.
