Hana Sugisaki Cast as Rukia Kuchiki for Live-Action Bleach Film Adaptation

Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump reveals Blade of the Immortal actress as Rukia Kuchiki for live-action Bleach film adaptation.

On February 6th, Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine, a weekly shōnen manga anthology published in Japan by Shueisha under the Jump line of magazines, revealed that actress Hana Sugisaki (Rin from Blade of the Immortal, Mary from Mary and The Witch’s Flower, Sayaka from When Marnie Was There) will be portraying Rukia Kuchiki for the live-action film adaptation of Tite Kubo’s Bleach manga.

She will be joining previously announced Sota Fukushi (Gentaro Kisaragi/Kamen Rider Fourze from Kamen Rider Fourze) who is portraying the protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki.

The film will revolve around the “Substitute Shinigami Arc,” the manga’s first arc which ran from its first-eighth volume. Additionally, on July 7th, 2017, a teaser trailer was streamed for the film.

The film will release on July 20th, 2018.
